Position Overview
Socotra Tech Services is seeking a motivated AI/ML Engineer Intern to join our Fund Dharma product team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience working on real-world LLM applications, agentic systems, and AI-driven automation. You will collaborate with senior engineers to build, prototype, and deploy AI solutions that directly impact our product and operations.

Education Requirement: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a related field
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in writing, fine-tuning, and prompt-engineering Large Language Models (LLMs) for use within the Fund Dharma product.
- Support the development of internal AI agents that automate administrative and operational workflows.
- Help refactor and reduce portions of the existing Node.js and React codebase by leveraging LLM-driven code generation and optimization.
- Build proof-of-concept tools and prototypes for evaluating new AI/ML approaches.
- Conduct testing, evaluation, and benchmarking of AI models and agent behaviors.
- Document experiments, model performance, and engineering decisions clearly.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams in code reviews and design discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or React.
- Understanding of REST APIs, version control (Git/GitHub), and basic cloud concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or the OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.
- Exposure to vector databases, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, or embedding models.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering best practices.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Personal or academic projects involving AI agents, chatbots, or automation.
