Position Overview
Socotra Tech Services is hiring a Junior UI/UX Designer to join our Fund Dharma product team. In this role, you will own both user research and interface design — conducting research to understand user needs, translating insights into intuitive user experiences, and designing polished, modern UI for our product. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and AI/ML teams to deliver designs that are user-centered, accessible, and visually compelling.

Education Requirement: Minimum Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Design, Cognitive Science, or a related field
Key Responsibilities
User Research
• Plan and conduct user research activities including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiry.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, empathy maps, and other research artifacts to inform design decisions.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative research data and translate findings into actionable design insights.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define research goals and validate product hypotheses.
• Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking within the fintech/fund management space.
UI/UX Design
• Design intuitive, user-friendly, and visually polished interfaces for the Fund Dharma product across web and mobile.
• Create wireframes, low- and high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and design specifications.
• Translate complex workflows, data, and product requirements into clear and accessible user experiences.
• Build and maintain a consistent design system and component library to ensure visual and interaction consistency.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers to ensure faithful and high-quality implementation of designs.
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and follow responsive/mobile-first principles.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and stakeholder input.
• Stay current with design trends, fintech UX patterns, and AI-driven interaction patterns.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Design, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience or coursework in both user research and UI/UX design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing user research process, design thinking, wireframes, mockups, and finished UI work.
• Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools (e.g., Maze, UserTesting, Lookback).
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
• Strong visual design skills, including typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly present design decisions and research findings.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing for fintech, fund management, or other data-rich product domains.
• Experience designing AI-powered interfaces such as chat UIs, agent interactions, or LLM-driven workflows.
• Familiarity with prototyping tools (Figma Prototype, ProtoPie, Framer) and design handoff workflows.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how UI translates to React-based frontends.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
• Understanding of motion design and micro-interactions.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar) for data-informed design.
